Below is a recap of Nationals! Keep your eyes peeled for our end-of-year newsletter in replacement of our annual banquet this year.
Junior Olympic Nationals Championships
The season comes to an end after many hard fought runs in Paris, Kentucky. Working through crazy weather including thunderstorm and hail delays, our athletes did not back down and we are better off because of it!
9-10’s
We had 32 athletes across 6 age groups and 3 full teams compete. The 9-10 girls started us off with Nezeya Bugher coming across the line for an All-American finish in 17th place.
Next up, Patrick Keating finished the 3k race in 26th place leading the 9-10 boys.
11-12’s
The 11-12 girls took to the start line and were quickly called back to the team tents when the storm hit. Once the race got back underway Maeve O’Scannlain led the team in 37th place as the girls powered through the mud to a 16th place team finish.
The 11-12 boys highlighted the day as they battled to a 2nd place team finish as National Runner-Up’s. Landon Brefczynski was the top finisher for the boys in 16th place and All-American honors.
13-14’s
The 13-14 girls were represented by Evylee Bugher and Tyler Thomas with the two finishing in 21st and 177th. Evylee was the third BTC athlete of the day to earn All-American.
On the boys side, Matthew Wroblewski finished 45th overall leading the guys to a 10th place team finish.
We could not be more proud of all our athletes and the dedication and work ethic they showed this season. We are excited for this to continue into the new year! Go BTC!
